Winter volume, light by nature
This women’s trapper ushanka is made from Russian raccoon — also known as finnraccoon or tanuki. The fur is voluminous yet soft, with long flowing guard hairs and a warm-toned underlayer. Compared to Canadian raccoon, it’s lighter in structure and naturally more dynamic in silhouette. The fur lines the brow, inner flaps, and back neckline with full coverage and movement.
The leather crown is shaped without stiffness, forming to the head without molding. A sewn-in visor completes the front edge. Rear cotton ties allow the flaps to fasten at the back of the neck — keeping the ears protected while revealing the face. This creates a distinctive outline similar to roller-style hats, but warmer in build.
Inside, the trapper is finished with quilted black serge and breathable insulation. A silk adjustment band hidden under the lining allows for fine-tuning the fit. The result is a cold-season hat with expressive softness — made for real winter, but styled to move.
